What's the deal with Terminator - The Sarah Connor Chronicals? Where's the Liquid metal man?

I don't see the show going anywhere. It will always be compared to the movies and the storyline is limited. It's probably not in the budget to create the liquid metal terminators. And they don't want to bring every possible character or aspect of the show out right away. You have to have something to look forward to. The girl playing the terminator is very cute by the way. But it feels so fake.
