How do you number a word doent?

I ran out of room up there but thats the gist of it. I want to number a doent where the numbers start and stop at places that are not the original stop and starting points. Also there is no room to do it manually (I tried that.) Also all while keeping the format the same (i.e. no changing letter size or paragraph formating)
