What am i supposed to put in a compost bin?

Twigs and sticks take a long time to decompose. Just go check a forest. However, softer things like vegetable peels, whole vegetables, flowers and the like(anything that grows out of the ground basically) can be put in a compost. Keep out animal products(they will rot and attract rodents, and other creatures. Water the compost nearly daily(unless you have a lot of rain) It needs to be in the sun to build up heat(heat starts the decomposition process). lots of info at a garden store.
