Why is Sharon Angle being mocked for saying Hispanics look like Asians when many do have Asiatic features?

Apparently these people mocking haven't seen many Hispanics of Indigenous Mexican, Guatemalan and Honduran heritage because they have Asian looking eyes and facial structure. Not to mention the fact that their ancestors came from Asia...
