What distinguishes Multiple Sclerosis (especially secondary progressive) from Motor Neuron Disease?

Motor Neuron Disease is a progressive neurological disease, which destroys motor neurons, which are cells affecting the muscles. Multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune disease in which the body attacks its own myelin protecting the nerves, which in turn affects the muscles. Secondary progressive multiple sclerosis is characterized by a steady progression of neurological damage.
